A roundup of some of my favorite reads …

A stinking cute picture book by Bob Graham!
The illustrations are bright and capture real-life images beautifully, with great attention to detail.
Literally, the red woolen blanket here is the little girl’s companion/toy that she derives a great deal of comfort from as she goes along.
Figuratively, it is the essence of growing up and growing out of things that mattered a whole lot at a point of time and moving on onward and upward!
Diving into the vast wilderness that is life, without a security blanket – a concept that is being explored in a picture book for kids?
You have all my respect, Mr.Bob Graham.

The large family collection by Jill Murphy gives the reader a colorful peek into domestic life, with a keen eye for the mundane.
All the five books in this series are thoroughly enjoyable with warm, funny and detailed illustrations.
‘Five minutes of peace’ is a very special book to me.
It was one of the books that I specifically remember, that I discovered during internship lunch breaks at an elementary school, as a graduate speech and language clinician.
It reconnected me with the world of children’s books and reminded me why I love children’s books as much as I do. Sure, it was comfort food for me. But, I could not also help noticing the genius of Jill Murphy, in bringing to life, family life (an elephant family life) with bright colors.
